Author : Dr. M. Veera Prasad |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Human resource is an important indicator for the development of the country socially, economically and politically. India’s population is increasing by leaps and bounds. Majority of the population of India needs to become skilled to utilise the resources effectively and economically. This process lessens the
dependency of the country on other countries for human resources. The institutions of higher learning play a key
role in imparting the quality education and along with it analytical skills should be imparted rather than relying on
traditional methods of teaching to the students especially to the social science students. This analytical skill teaching along with curriculum in the higher education and strict adherence to syllabus confines ones knowledge to a limited sphere. The output of qualified graduates and post graduates from the Universities in India should be competent, rational, self-reliant, responsible, cooperative in nature, disciplined, analytical in approach to outstand in the field they pursue in this era of technological globalization. |

LACUNAE IN THE GROWTH OF TECHNOLOGY ASSISTED ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING – A SUITABLE REMEDY |
Author : V. Siva Prasad and C. V. Viswanatha Rao |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :It is obvious to say that traditional methods in teaching and learning English language have been relegated due to the upsurge of science and technology and the concept of globalization. Of course, it has created new avenues to enrich the learning process in an easy way. However, technology assisted learning is posing several problems which appear difficult to solve. Nevertheless, the present paper ventures to diagnose and expose lacunae in learning and explores a suitable remedy to revive its energetic journey in Indian context. Frankly speaking, at U.G. and P.G. level English Language Labs have been established with a view to honing the communication skills of learners. Ironically, as most of the stakeholders are from semi-urban and rural areas, its significance has been hampered, as a result of ignorance and inability to catch the spirit of technology. Adding to this, the teachers as well, are unable to evince much interest in welcoming the change, since most of them have been habituated to chalk and board teaching. Whatsoever, the paper endeavours to elucidate the discouraging tendencies and focuses on possible anodyne to dispel the ignorance of both teachers and learners by enlightening the feasibility and compatibility of technology assisted learning from primary to higher education. |

Author : D. Vengateswari And Dr. S. Mohan |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Oil and gas industries are one of the largest industries worldwide and involve in the exploration, extraction, refining, transport and marketing of oil and gas products. Petrol and gas are the two important factors for manufacturing and service sector of every country. India is also one of the major importers of crude oil and refined it and sold to public. The value added is the wealth generated by an enterprise comprises the investment in shares by shareholders and borrowings from outsiders. If such an investment does not generate wealth i.e., value, it may be termed as the misuse of public funds. The concept of value addition, therefore, is a concept broader than the concept of profit. Profit is a test for shareholders to measure the performance of an enterprise while the value added is a measure available for all the constituents like workers, government, financiers as well as owners who contribute in the process of generating wealth or value addition in the enterprise. Every member of this team contributes to the value added and gets a proportionate share therein. The
present study has been undertaken to analyze the value added trends of the top five oil and gas companies in India. The companies selected for the study are ONGC, IOCL, HPCL, BPCL and RIL. The study concludes the performance of select oil and gas companies are satisfactory. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Stress at work is a relatively new phenomenon of modern lifestyles. The nature of job stress has gone through
drastic changes over the last century and it is still changing at whirlwind speed. It has touched almost all professions. Job stress possesses a threat to physical health. Job related stress in the life of organized workers, consequently, disturbs the health of organizations. Stress has become a part and parcel of human life and is more pronounced in corporate life. Job stress is a process through which an organization becomes distorted, slowly and systematically, by the constant malfunctioning of some systems. Stress can occur in all occupations for any one at any level. In some type of job, high levels of stress are integral part and unavoidable part of the job. But the stress level is varying from employee to employee. What is stressful for one employee may not be for another employee; it is the interaction of the employee and the nature of job that an employee has to do. It depends on relations within the workplace, the roles an employee perform, support of colleagues, structure and culture of the organization and the complexity of the tasks one has to perform. Stress level is higher in case of employees who are uncertain of the outcome as to whether they are the losers or gainers and lower in the case of ones who are sure that winning or losing is all part of the game. |

Author : Dr. Gulab Jha and Mayuri Dutta |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :From the traditional perspective, gender study in language and literature has been subject to the rigid dichotomies based on sexual identity categories-man/woman, which have significantly contributed to the normative construction of men and women as binary opposites. People are assigned from their very birth
with sexual identity categories and social roles are based on their physical characteristics of gender-male/female,
masculine/feminine. However from the poststructuralist standpoint, gender construction is not invariably binary;
it is fluid and admits plural possibilities. It is the deconstruction or blurring of two powerful radical dualism of gender: male/female. |

On the off chance that this adjustment in a fantastic scale is to be accomplished without a savage transformation there is one and just instrument that be utilized – Education" having such size of impact of education it ought to be viewed as one of the essential apparatus for women empowerment. Author : Dr. M. Ramakrishna Reddy |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The Principal has a preponderant role to play in the college of education and as the figurehead of the B.Ed. College of education, is invested with the symbolic and ceremonial role in the B.Ed. College of education. The Principal is also responsible for the work of the trainee teachers at the B.Ed. College of education in his capacity as the leader of the B.Ed. College of education. It is also one of the roles of the B.Ed. College Principal to motivate and counsel both the staff and the trainee teachers when things go against the established norms in the
B.Ed. College of education. It is the solemn duty of the B.Ed. College Principal to look not only into the affairs inside the college but also outside. He needs to communicate with the Principals of other colleges, the University officials and the officials of the Education Department, both national and provisional. The Principal of a B.Ed. College can neglect his liaison role only at his own peril. By the virtue of his informational and communicational role, the B.Ed. College Principal tends to become the ‘nerve centre’ of the B.Ed. College. Both the Principal and the College Management Team (CMT) need to monitor the teaching as well as learning in their B.Ed. College. They also need to keep track of the information pertaining to the performance of the staff as well as the achievements of the trainee teachers. The present paper throws sumptuous light on role and responsibilities of the Principals
working in B.Ed. Colleges of Education in relation to planning, organizing, leading and quality control. There are
certain subtasks that are closely aligned to these four main tasks and they are discussed at length under their respective main tasks and other tasks like the resource management, decision making and problem solving etc which also fall in the domain of the Principal are discussed.

Author : Vipin Kumar |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The urbanization process in India is marked by both the phenomena of urban growth i.e. natural increase and by rural to urban migration which is reflected by the huge demographic momentum of India. Punjab is one of the highly urbanized states of India as it has more than 37 per cent of its total population living in urban centres. It experienced the growth of 25.9 per cent from the previous decade. It is also noted that urban growth in Punjab is three times more than that of its rural growth which is 7.8 per cent from 2001 to 2011.The
growth and pattern of urban centres i.e. statutory towns and census towns both at district level and across size Class of towns is unevenly distributed from 1991- 2011 in Punjab. The degree and pattern of urbanization are more about migration from rural areas accompanied by an increase in the number of small as well as large towns over a period of time particularly in the last decade. Agriculture played an important role in the increasing urbanization in Punjab because the rise in income level of people in villages led them to migrate towards urban
centres. This pattern of urbanization is marked by the variation at district as well as at the town level as the big villages are converted to small urban centres and then to large cities. This study represents the real situation of the level and trend of urban growth and emergence of new towns and helps the urban planners and government to make the plan for the sustainable living, better standard of basic amenities like safe sources of drinking water, safe water disposal and to make the cities sustainable. |

Author : Dr. S. D. Kadam and Mrs. S.S. Kadam |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Plant biodiversity is an important biological tool to understand and monitor the changes in climatic, edaphic and aquatic factors of environment. The fast changes in abiotic factors of environment put stress on biotic communities which results in loss of plant species and animal species from their habitats. These loses of plants and animal species becomes the cause of imbalance in ecosystems which further results in irregular
supply of energy pool (food) in between autotrophs to heterotrophs and at the end the whole ecosystem turning
towards ageing process. Jayanti Nalla was a fresh water stream before 1980, which originate from Kalamba Lake and meet with Panchganga river after passing 18 km. distance through the central part of Kolhapur city. At present Janyanti Nalla receives huge quantity of sewage from both the sides of crowded human settlements accounts about 150 MLD. This sewage mainly consists night soil and other domestic waste which further alters the characteristics of nalla water. This changed water contents (pollutants) threats the native plants and animal
species of nalla water (aquatic flora and fauna) as well as bank biota due to water log condition. " AN ASSESSMENT OF THE PRESENT NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF THE RURAL AND TRIBAL ADOLESCENTS IN OUR STATE AND ADVISE. " |
Author : Dr. V. Vijay Sarthi |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The ruling Government, of country proudly declares that majority of our population are fed properly and the nation is progressing well in that direction. But the private and foreign surveys reveal that Sixty percent of our population are still below the poverty line and do not have minimum staple food to feed their stomach. Adding fuel to the fire. the United Nations Inter National council revealed that South East Asian countries
(including India) cannot survive unless they create 10 Lakh jobs per month. The present average per capita income per day is Rs. 15/- in rural and Rs. 25/- in urban population indeed reveal what a hazardous blow is given to our economy as well as to the health of our young and adolescent citizens. The irony is that though Government succeeds, let us suppose, in creating manual jobs in the country, our youth are not strong and healthy enough to perform the work which again should lead to acute poverty and morbid generation. It is against this back drop that one must consider the need to assess the nutritional requirement needed for adolescents of our country. It is
in the light of this striking necessity that one has to recognize the importance of nutritional diet for adolescent in
the nation. |
